Ninja Gaiden Dragon Swords Impressions

A while back I posted about Team Ninja’s plans to bring Ryu Hayabusa and all of his ninja shenanigans to the little hand-held that could. Some time between then and a few months ago, I kinda set down my DS. Needless to say, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Swords (NGDS) dropped off of my gaming radar. Well, I’ve since picked it up and I have to say that I think it’s one of my favorite DS games to date. Hit the cut for my impressions.

Okami and Me
After proving to be a miserable disappointment, I traded in Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I’m sure many of you might think I had to have put that trade-in value towards a GTA IV pre-order. Well, many of you would think wrong. While I’m fairly liberal with respect to the games that I let my seven-year old son play, there is a line that I draw. That line is called GTA. Instead, I applied the full amount to Capcom’s Wii-release (get it?) of Okami. Having never played it on the PS2, I’m truly looking forward to getting into a vastly different gameplay experience than currently comprises my gaming regimen. I’ll post my impressions (perhaps even a review) in time, but until then you can check out the above video.
The Vader Sessions
This has got to be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while. Hit the jump for more Vader-inspired hilarity:

First Look At Snake Eyes

When I first heard they were going to be giving G.I. Joe the live-action, Hollywood treatment, there was a part of me that cringed inside. In spite of the commendable job done with Transformers, I’m still very skeptical of Hollywood’s ability to mine my childhood without utterly ravaging and killing its treasures in the extraction process. When they announced that Ray “Darth Maul” Parks was slated to play Snake Eyes, my spirit was bolstered, but I remained cautious. Then GunDoc posted these pictures over on the OKC forums and suddenly I’m actually excited about the project. Check out one more picture, along with its obvious inspiration after the cut.

Obama On Race
I generally try to stay as far away from politics as I can. I’ve found that the subject often leads to horribly divisive arguments. More than that, though, I’ve never really cared enough about politics to get into it. I’ve been jaded by the past nearly eight years under the Bush administration. But, for the first time in my life, I genuinely care about the political process in this country. Moreover, I actually care about a political candidate. For once in my life, I feel like we can get this country back on track. Even through all of the mud-slinging and dredging up of anything to tarnish his character, Obama has retained his integrity.
OK Company Caricatures (Part 2)

Blud
Ever since I met him on GRAW 2, sniping with “Shitbrick” has been Blud’s first love.
After posting the first batch I discovered that the guys rather enjoyed my artistic take on each of them. Inspired by their enthusiasm, I set out to churn out another set of caricatures. Check out the rest after the jump.

1 Cop Vs. 25 Stoners
Just to put things in perspective, this is a 4/20 event staged by some intrepid stoners at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. 25 stoners huddled under a parachute have their session interrupted by one bamboozled officer of the law.
OK Company Caricatures (Part I)

The Fat Ninja Goes CoD4
This was the one that started it all, and it remains my favorite.
In a recent burst of inspiration, I’ve been trying to draw caricatures of all of the guys from OK Company. It’s been a slow process and I’m still not even close to being done. Since OK Company has been playing mostly Call of Duty 4, I’m using it as the theme for the caricatures. Check out the rest after the cut.

Optimus Prime and the Evolution of Dance
I can’t imagine the sheer exercise in patience that this video demanded, but the results are absolutely hilarious.
