Toys R Us Releases Prematurely, Unfulfilled Gamers Break 2K Forums
If you didn’t know, more than a few Toys ‘R’ Us locations decided to forego the street date and sell copies of BioShock a week prior to release. Like some horrible pandemic, the rage has quickly swept through the tubes, infecting gamers everywhere. With pitchforks and torches in hand, they descended upon the 2K forums in droves. Unequipped to handle the massive influx of confusion, anger and repressed jealousy, the forums have since imploded. The parallels that one might draw between this whole thing and BioShock’s story of a community tearing itself apart are thoroughly steeped in irony.

EDIT: It looks like the fire brigades over at 2K were dispatched quickly and the issue has since been resolved.

I called the GameStop that I go to - they said Toys ‘R’ Us’ sales of BioShock are getting shut down as we speak. That’s too bad; I’d rather see all retailers start selling ‘em early. Oh well.
