Flobots

My buddy Zeak recently had me listen to the track Handlebars by Flobots. I’ll admit that I initially stopped listening after a few minutes, dismissing it as more aimless drivel. After a while I found myself humming the tune to myself, and came back to give it a closer listen. What I found was a […]

Book Review: Lone Survivor

_____
I just finished Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10, which was a great read. I’ll start by saying that author Marcus Luttrell is unabashedly conservative in his politics and he wears that distinction as proudly as he wears the SEALs’ Navy Trident. His politics find […]

First Look At Snake Eyes

When I first heard they were going to be giving G.I. Joe the live-action, Hollywood treatment, there was a part of me that cringed inside. Picking A Side In The HD Format War

I’ve been watching the format war pretty closely for quite some time now, but it wasn’t until this week that I chose to pick a side and join the fray. I had long felt that HD-DVD was the way to go. Between the cost and the apparent quality of the product (based on reviews of […]

U.N.K.L.E. + Animé = Awesomenessosity

If you haven’t heard of U.N.K.L.E., you should check them out. This is a short film titled Shin Gi Tai that they did for Channel 4 films. Awesome stuff. Enjoi!

Another Halo Short

Explain to me, again, why studios aren’t eager to pick up the Halo movie project? After watching this latest clip from Neil Blomkamp (with the help of WETA and Origami Digital), I can’t imagine there’s any question that Blomkamp is a perfect fit for the project.

Foux Da Fa Fa

Once again, ladies and gentlemen, the Flight of the Conchords. This time Jermaine and Bret pay homage to the language of love, as spoken in broken, disjointed and entirely unrelated phrases. After all, nothing quite woos the ladies like a man’s ability to inquire after the whereabouts of the local library.
