swollen-eyed stoicism
rejection lunges in for the kill
with bellowed rage
swinging fear blindly,
lashing out at stunned

gnashing teeth…
the outcome of this battle is up to you
I wrote this one some time ago. It was my own attempt to shake loose apathy and start focusing on trying to get my poetry published. While my fear of rejection has certainly gotten the better of me in the past, I’m taking steps in overcoming those concerns by putting my stuff out there to be read and critiqued. Now all I need is an audience.
Oh, and building off of the last one I posted, I tried a few things with the arrangement and composition. I’m not sure if it works or just feels forced. So, for all of you who aren’t reading my blog, tell me what you think.
