Go Tornados!

Byron played in his first soccer game as a Southside Tornado yesterday. I don’t know that mere words can fully communicate the unbridled chaos and confusion that is 10 kindergarteners scrambling after a checkered ball in a middle-school gymnasium, but it was an utter blast watching them go at it. The other team seemed a bit more seasoned, and watching a couple of them I kept picturing them going through rigorous training regimes akin to those that Ivan Drago underwent in Rock IV. It was a loss for the Tornados, but before the match ended they had managed to close the scoring gap significantly. Really though, just watching Byron having so much fun playing was victory enough for me.

Thats awesome Dre. My little bro is into soccer and hes been enrolled in a league the past 2 years. I tell ya man, its a blast watching them play. Especially me being a sport nut, I would cheer/yell like crazy when they (my bro’s team) would score or defend a close shot.

Towards the end of the first season, I had memorized the names of his teammates and cheer for them ingame and give them highfives after the games.

Seriously, you wouldn’t think a poorly played game of soccer would be so fun! And I hate soccer too.
