Five Years!

Yesterday marked the fifth anniversary of Laura’s and my marriage. In that time Laura and I have faced more than our fair share of adversity. We have done our best to turn such things to our advantage, using them to strengthen our understanding of one another and, in turn, our relationship itself.

To celebrate, we had Laura’s mom watch the kids and went out for dinner. Lucky for us, a new Ruby Tuesday’s decided to open up on the corner of Murray and Scholls Ferry in Beaverton just in time for our anniversary (they opened the day before our Fifth). We used to go to the Ruby’s at the Mall of America all the time. It was kind of our thing. So, we were pretty excited to see this new one as we drove to Laura’s mom’s. After dropping off the kids, we drove back and got seated immediately. We sat outside, alongside a pond (with fountain), listening to live blues music, and enjoying a delicious meal and a little one on one time.

After dinner we strolled around the neighboring strip mall before heading back to pick up Byron and Brynn. It felt wonderful to have some adult time for a while. All in all, it was a great night. Next weekend we’ll look to actually get out of town for a bit for additional celebrating.

Congrats Dre! I do love me some Ruby Tuesday. I am thinking they must have opened in the building where Beaches restaurant is. A beautiful setting right on the pond.
