A Personal Best

I hit the disc golf course on lunch today and played a great game. I actually came away with a personal best for the Orchard Park course, finishing one under par. Best of all, I really hit my stride using the Innova Star Valkyrie that Dean picked up for me. It’s a short entry, I know, but I thought it was worth posting.

Don’t be thinking that will help you today at McMenamins.

How long does an average game take?

It all depends on the size of the course. The Orchard Park course is only about 9 holes, and their all fairly close together. Playing alone, and provided I don’t spend a lot of time trying to find my discs in the rough, I can blaze through it in about 30-40 minutes. Another course, Pier Park, is a sweeping 18 holes, and that can take quite a bit longer. The best thing is, disc golf is cheap. The best discs are around $20 apiece, but cheaper ones are like $8. Courses are usually in state/city parks, and are therefore free.
